An extraordinarily young trio originally from Hebei, Rustic are the pick of the newest generation of Beijing rockers. Forget post-punk obsessed hipsters, this lot are out to put the fun back into things, and to rock out while doing so.
Consisting of charismatic vocalist and lead guitarist Lucifer (Li Yan to his folks), bassist Ricky Sixx (yes, a Motley Crue obsessive) and drummer Li Fan, the band mix 1980s American hair metal with jaunty British ‘punk pathetique’ (think Toy Dolls; Lucifer’s favourite band).
The result? Brilliantly catchy songs and unbridled theatricality – winning Rustic the Global Battle of the Bands competition in 2009!
